Wezesha Msichana "Economic Empowerment"

Our "Wezesha Msichana"is Swahili for "Empower a Girl” initiative that focuses on strengthening girl-headed households and empowering Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) economically, especially teenage mothers and vulnerable girls. Through this program, we provide comprehensive training in financial literacy and essential skills to enhance self-sufficiency among girls and young women, thereby reducing dependency on external support for AGYW

IMPACT

This program has significantly contributed to: Incubated 20 businesses for adolescent mothers and one climate smart farm Reduced Gender-Based Violence (GBV) by providing financial independence and valuable skills, young women gain the means to support themselves and their families, reducing vulnerabilities.
